#GetTechnical // Freezing Your Start Position for Olympic Weightlifting, Part 1

#GetTechnical with dynamic starts! These are tricky to master because generating any kind of momentum before the barbell moves off the ground can potentially impact the rest of the lift.

Here, we have an instance with one of our Remote Athletes in which bodily movement is causing improper positioning and also unnecessary barbell movement. Before trying to implement a dynamic start, we must master:
✅Lifting off through the MID FOOT
✅Driving straight through the floor
✅Transitioning from floor to knee

Too much rocking movement during a lift off can cause:
🚫Improper set up
🚫Premature bodyweight transfer
🚫Lifting off through the HEELS

Less movement creates a better movement. If you’re struggling with position, be static!
