Dustin grew up in a small town in Kansas. He played multiple sports growing up, but baseball was his best. He began strength training when he transferred to one of the biggest schools in Kansas at the start of his junior year. Strength training allowed his athletic ability to grow, which in turn gave him the opportunity to play college baseball. Dustin played collegiate baseball at Kansas Wesleyan University. Unfortunately, after 1 season he sustained an injury and decided it was best to stop before a more serious injury occurred.
Dustin studied Human Performance as an undergraduate student at the University of Tampa. There he was able to get first-hand experience in collegiate strength and conditioning through an internship with the UT strength staff and was also was able to complete the Coach & Mentorship Development Program through Keep Pulling. Upon graduation from The University of Tampa, he plans to pursue graduate school at USF with a focus in strength and conditioning.
Dustin found the sport of Olympic Weightlifting in 2016 when he transferred to the University of Tampa. Being a competitor, he knew he wanted to compete at a high level. In 2018 he qualified for the U25 National Championships and has goals to compete at Senior National Championships.
